Athlete Checklist: Preparing for Competition

[ ] Documentation: Carry a valid HDSF Athlete License and proof of age (ID card or birth certificate).

  • [ ] Dress Code Compliance: * Juveniles: Strictly monochrome dresses/shirts; no stones or glitter.

    • Adults/Youth: Ensure costumes meet WDSF/HDSF visibility and safety standards.

  • [ ] Check-in: Arrive at the venue at least 90 minutes before your category’s scheduled start.

  • [ ] Footwear: Heel protectors are mandatory for all Latin and Standard shoes to protect the dance floor.

  • [ ] Music (if applicable): Provide a high-quality backup of your music on a USB stick, even if you uploaded it during registration.

  • [ ] Participation: Confirm your presence for the Athletes' Parade and the final Awards Ceremony.

Who is eligible to compete in the Greek Championship North?

The event is open to all athletes registered with the HDSF. While it focuses on the Northern region, it often hosts "Open" categories accessible to all national and international members.

Can I compete in more than one age category?

Yes. Generally, athletes may compete in their own age group and the one immediately above it (e.g., a Junior II couple may also enter the Youth category).

What are the judging criteria?

Couples are evaluated using the Skating System or the New Judging System (NJS), focusing on:

  • Technical Quality

  • Movement to Music (Timing & Rhythm)

  • Partnering Skills

  • Choreography and Presentation

Is there a specific dress code for spectators?
While there is no formal dress code for daytime heats, Smart Casual or Semi-Formal attire is highly encouraged for the Gala Evening Finals.
How do I access the official results?

Results are typically posted on the venue walls 30 minutes after each category ends and will be uploaded to the official HDSF portal within 24 hours.
